The Godot team has released an impressive update of their open source game engine.
After more than 18 months of development, all Godot Engine contributors are proud to present our biggest release so far, Godot 3.0! It brings a brand new rendering engine with state-of-the-art PBR workflow for 3D, an improved assets pipeline, GDNative to load native code as plugins, C# 7.0 support, Bullet as the 3D physics engine, and many other features which are described in depth below.
Impatient users can put an end to 18 months of waiting by jumping directly to our Download page and start playing with Godot 3.0!
Been using 3.0 since alpha and the way the engine grows is amazing. Nice to see so many open-source projects like Blender, Godot and Krita growing this much. It's valid to mention that the Godot team is using EEVEE as reference for their PBR engine so Blender users can match the assets look in both softwares without effort.
It's here! IT'S HERE! The new Godot baby's finally here!
As a bit of heads-up: The download link on this page sends you to the Mac OS X download page.
There's no general "Downloads" page, so that's why this one's the Mac version's URL.
Not a problem, though.
Just change the tab over to Windows or Linux, if you're using such.
Oh, and thanks for the news update, Bart!
I've updated the link, hadn't noticed it had /osx added. I think it will automatically detect your platform now?
I think it's working now. At least on my end for my platform (Windows), it took me to the Windows page. Thanks, Bart.
Sounds amazing, will definitely consider this engine for a game project, especially if the HTML5 export works nicely in this version!
