Since the Bf109 did not go well (The result render was not that nice, currently I am thinking about rerender it), I tried to cheer me up a little with something else. So here is the Maserati 250f. Took me 2-3 weeks to finish it, as always I am not entirely happy with it, but I think that you can judge better if I succeeded or not.

One thing I've learned is that sometimes you end up spending a lot of
time on modelling and texturing and then when it comes time for
rendering I'm tired out and just want to get it done and give up when it
looks like junk. But when I wait a few a days or weeks and come back to
it when I'm fresh I can focus on getting the lighting, and textures
right and it doesn't feel like such a chore. And usually it's just a
matter of spending time making fine adjustments and it comes out looking
very nice.
Good TIP ! I've had the same experience more than once!
Nice car ! But I prefer the top and front views on BlenderArtists. Those are really interesting !
I love the look of this image. It reminds me of airbrush illustrations I've seen. I have to ask though, what references did you use for the spoke lacing on the wheels ? I can't recall seeing wire wheels with deliberately bent spokes.
