Tom Walks likes to tease us. Here's his latest experiment.

Tom writes:

First scene

Vehicle concept for what could be a new animation. Rendered internally + a good help from Gimp

Second scene

Done in Blender 2.64, a little help from Arbaro (Tree generator used to create palm trees), and Gimp. Render : Blender internal.

An other concept for, maybe, an animation to come.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Nice !

I bet you use speed vector for motionblur in compositing because is a bit strobing when we go fast.
But really good job ! Specialy for the second scene.

Extremely shiny. I likes the jet-engine effects, motion blur (feels like Im going really fast), and reflections of all the jungle foliage on the racetrack.

    • I see the Star Wars podracers, too, but that track says "F-Zero" all day. (Man, this makes me want an HD "F-Zero" game for Wii U even more now. lol)

  2. Rendered in Blender internal...

    Blender's fastest renderer.

I wish the developers didn't discontinued this in replacement for Cycles.
