nice! :)
I watched it in HD a few times and I think it's nothing special. But it's just my opinion... don't take it bad. :)
Seeya, Any suggestions for how we can improve the video? We are accepting criticit and suggestions
Sure. I start by saying that my criticisms are aimed at realism (or photorealism) just because I think it is important for interior viz. Anyway I know that might not be your goal, so... :). Ok... let's go.
I think couch arm fabric is the same as the rest of couch fabric, but if you look at it you can say it seems mapped differently.
All the back cushions of the couch seems to be the same, I didn't note modeling differences. It is clear at 00:20.
The sofa seems to have no
sewing seams. It is clear at 00:04 looking at the sit coushions where fabric mapping is "wide", bump texture takes some differerence on edge but no sewing seams are visible. Look also at 00:09 on back coushion of the couch, mapping mistake? What about the top of the puff? Is it dirty or there is a dent (00:23)? IMHO coloured pillows have a too much wide fabric map. They seem made of wool.I repeat, your work is good, I don't want you take bad my criticism.PS: I like so much logo and the way the logo appears at the end. Beautiful.PPS: Sorry for my english... it is not my language...so be patient. :)
I say it is all good , just would have loved to see ,some woodfloor work :)
I found the lighting and environment to be bland. It was way too gray all over for my liking. Needs a bit more colour, I think.
Thanks guys, I am grateful to the comments, if you prefer this is the link to the video on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_Y0IFX0a6M
Sofa model is great. In the last cut when rotating around the sofa the motion and stopping is a bit harsh. Need to work on the motion curve. Motion should be smooth and elegant. I think.
Hmm I will study more about it! Thanks for the feedback
Nice work. It seems like every Cycles render looks the same.
So Indigo, Arion, Octane, Vray, Arnold, Maxwell, Fryrender too? That's the dumbest criticism I ever heard, if they "look the same" is because of the artist's limits right now, and cuz Cycles is quite young and people didn't experiment a lot with it, yet.
If you want to make cartoonish renders lets take another one.
Maybe I'm wrong but I think young_voter means "every cycles render looks nice (the same as nice work)".
What I mean is that while it's nice, it doesn't offer the range as say the look of Pixar films. All I have seen is just this realistic look from Cycles. But Vray and Maxwell, I have seen a greater range of image renders.
While there may not be anything wrong with the realistic look (since a lot of people are aiming for it anyway), I agree. But in its defence, it's still young and there are a lot of features coming that could fix that. But at the moment, I'm not a fan (and never have been) of Cycles. I still prefer to use BI or other external renderers.
Wow you are really smart, you are comparing a "major 25 years old blockbuster 3d movie company" to a one-man OpenSource project which is 2 years old. Congrats! Really clever
Do you know Pixar has been bought by Disney for 7.4 billion dollar in 2006? Maybe if you donate 7 billion dollars to Blender Foundation they could improve Cycles..huh?
Nice couch and love the use of that Incubus track.
Nice couch. I agree with Seeya though about the back cushions being identical. I really noticed it at 0:20. Otherwise looks good.
I like it! i would choose other colors though.I would prefer for the sofa to stand out from the background.I love the use of DoF!
First of all, your vid looks very nice. But, I did nearly the same sofa while doing this tutorial:
http://cgcookie.com/blender/cgc-series/interior-3d-architectural-visualization/
I don't say you copied it, but I think your sofa is a cheap one. Any way it looks better, I must admit this.
And your cushions looks textured. It seems as if you used a bumbmap or a bas texture for the fabric layer and added a 90° rotated texture for the color pattern. I paused the clip because I got this feeling and from my point of view it looks that way.
But in general you did very good work and I would be glad if I could do something half as good as your work.
Nice porn music. No, but seriously great sofa and great textures.
Well done. I didn't see any fireflies (or mosquitoes). Nice work. I was looking for that flicker of graininess that sometimes I see in VRay animations (that's just the one I compare to all animations), but none of that here. Did you use any noise reduction software in post, or is this straight out of the Cycles oven?
I'm use the Remove Grain of After Effects for get a better resoult!
Ah, okay, good idea. Nice result.
They shoulda dropped a Rat Fink right on the sofa right at the end of the render: http://tinyurl.com/7aeea5z
Hi you have done a great job. I also do furniture stuff for architectural renders. For me there's one thing that's difficult to do, maybe you could add it.
Your cushion are covered with cloth, but if you add the details where the cloths are sewed together, that would be grate.
Your yellow and brown cushions give that feeling that its 2 cloth sewed together. Of course its just my opinion.
