The people behind the popular tutorials site CG Cookie have just launched a new online CG training website. They'll be supporting Blender right from the start.
Wes Burke writes:
Mavenseed is an CG education website that offers private one on one training from an expert in the respective field.
The benefit of private one on one tutoring is that you are able to address your personal concerns, questions and goals immediately. There is no running through topics you already know in software manuals, or course requirements. Our instructors work with your schedule as best they can and are available to you for the requested time.
Mavenseed opens up it's doors today as an online cg private tutoring site. We are pleased to offer the educational knowledge of Jonathan Williamson, Gary Oliverio and Alessandro Cangelosi. These individuals bring a unique training experience to Mavneseed. Jonathan and Alessandro are our first instructors to brave the new world, with the others to follow shortly.
Our Instructors
- Jonathan Williamson is a well respected Blender educator, and community leader that is known throughout the depths of the Blender community. Jonathan comes to Mavenseed from our sister site Cg Cookie where he has several Blender education pieces.
- Alessandro Cangelosi - Born in Rome on August 12, 1975, began studying traditional art since he was a teenager. Studies of computing led him to develop a technical approach to programming in the years in which the transition from 2D to 3D starts. The love for art, colors and light of photography led him and to combine technique, merging application development to implementation of works in 3D.
- Gary Oliverio. Born in Cleveland, Gary currently resides in the Chicago area. He has been in the game industry for the past 13 years working for such companies as Take Two Interactive and Midway Games to name but a few. Early in his career, he latched on to Hash Animation Master and began to teach himself the art of character modeling. He ended up writing a character modeling tutorial that shipped with the software.
An hour of one-on-one training costs $60.

the site looks awesome, it will undoubtly help me alot with my projects
great initiative
Looks like it will be a good service. The CGCookie is a great site. Just a bit of feedback. The banner on Gary Oliverio on the Instructor's page is a tad annoying. I understand you need to state he isn't available yet, but the banner makes it so it is hard to read what topics he can cover. In any event good luck.
The site is down.
