Incongruitastic, a Surreal Mystery/Comedy/Fantasy/Thriller

21

incongruitastic.jpgSo you never figured out the plot of Elephants Dream eh? Well, maybe you should think twice about watching Incongruitastic - a project by Jacob Kafka [WeirdHat]. It's easily the strangest but also most hilarious series of Blender animations I've ever seen.

Jacob writes:

Okay, so, I decided I want to make an animated webseries. But I couldn't decide what it should be about, so what I've done for the first episode is just take every single old unused or underused idea of mine, plus anything else I could think of, stick them all together, and animate it all as fast as I can (which turned out to be three weeks) to prove that the project is feasible and I could come out with another episode reasonably soon. It's basically a big brainstormy mishmash of niftiness, and here it is.

Roughly speaking, Incongruitasticis a surreal mystery/comedy/fantasy/thriller CG animated webseries about four security guards who protect an array of dangerous and unpredictable lightswitches from nefarious folks who would try to harness their power.

So far, WeirdHat has published five episodes and the plot is starting to show. Go check them out!

I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Now that's looney! Don't know why but reminds me "Un Chien andalou" directed by Dali and Bunuel... I really like the scene with a man with a turtle on his head - crazy thing! But I suggest focusing on the script a little bit more - the viewer is simply shiftless in understanding what is goin' on on the screen...

Still - congratulations! I'm lookin' forward to seeing next episodes!

  2. Hey! I thought that there's only one episode but there's much more (sorry!). And it all makes sense now! Ingenious and technically correct! Once again - congratulations!!!

  3. lol funny xD
the music is very nice, but after four times, it's getting kinda boring...
    your animating skills are amazing!

  4. Loved the main characters and whole situations. Lighting has improved from chapter zero a lot. Character animation is uneven, sometimes is OK sometimes is bad, but I can see you're getting better and better in each episode. Keep it up !

  5. It's just candy for my eyes! I want moooore! :)

Very good animation, sound-syncing. I also like lighting. 9 from me!

  6. This series is a work of genius! Everything's so crazy and funny, and the animation is very fluid and expressive. The only thing I would criticize so far is that the metal hand guy should've fallen faster when dropped into the hole.

I can't wait for the next one; my brothers and I just watched them through for the fourth time.

  7. Excellent webseries! At least it befuddled me, but after the 4th episode, i finally got the plot! It's really awesome, and the rewatch value is 10/10!!!!
