Farsthary (Raúl Fernández Hernández) made this video demonstration of his the unlimited clay modifier. The unlimited clay is a way to sculpt a mesh without worrying about underneath topology. If you haven’t seen it, just check the video. If you have seen it too many times already, may be you want to support Raúl more so we could have it earlier.

Blender Voxel Sculpting?

pantallazoFarsthary, Blender’s volumetrics guru, has taken on a new project: Voxel sculpting. Don’t get too excited as he’s still in the early stages of his work and there’s no code available. Still, it’s a nice insight into a possible new feature for Blender. For more information on Voxel Sculpting, see the explanation provided by 3D-Coat.

Chronicles from the Hurricane

Community member Farsthary from Cuba (famous for his volumetrics and smoke work) found his home wrecked after the hurricane Gustav passed. He and his family are fine, but they’re out of electricity and they have a lot of reconstruction work to do. You can support him by sending a donation. Bank account details are on his blog.

Update: I just tried to send some money, only to find out that Cuba is currently under embargo – you cannot send money there, at least from the Netherlands. The bank couldn’t tell me if this affects other countries as well :-/
