Learn how to dynamically generate particle systems, simulating a 'particle-reactor' in Blender.

Hi!
This is Dennis Fassbaender from Dennis Fassbaender Visual Effects.
I figured out a way to fake a particle-reactor.
With a particle reactor we are able to simulate realstic collision-partciles iE from things that are falling down to a ground.
Because i wanted to try my greenscreen at home i decided to make a more creative tutorial.
Enjoy watching!
Best regards,
Dennis

Really great idea, good job!
I never really thought about doing that because I would just place emitters where I wanted the smoke and stuff and setup the timing, never thought I could do this in a simpler but more effective way. Thanks man.
really cool trick! Thanks for sharing!
cool..
Another method I've found that does involve a little Dynamic Paint but can do a few different things, is to use a Mask modifier controlled by a Dynamic Paint vertex group. This allows the mesh to 'rebuild' itself with a delay, and be controlled by particles. It does require you to subdivide the mesh though, but It's still quite useful for hidden meshes that emit smoke and/or particles
one of the older versions of blender included a "reactor" type particle system, which seems to have been removed since 2.5x(leaving just hair and particle)- unless it's just hidden somewhere.
yea i used that alot wish they would bring it back, i think they ditched it in 2.49b but cant be sure
it was preset in 2.49b- I remember as it was the first version I used. I don't know exactly why it wasn't re-added and is now supplemented by faking. though I know just asking that would probably bring someone to comment "it's better with out it" without an explaination of why,lol
that's a neat trick, thanks
