Dwarf head sculpt

12

By David Phipps.

This sculpt was inspired by The Hobbit's dwarves (perhaps not all too surprisingly) and a challenge from a friend. I use Blender almost exclusively outside of school much to my delight (my university professors don't like it used in the classroom) . I'd like to thank the Blender community for pushing me and keeping me motivated. A special thanks to Blender Nation for always providing excellent content.

Cheers,
-David

    • I think much of the effect came from the three point lighting I used. The clay strips and crease brushes were really vital for getting most of this look. I could whip up a tutorial if you'd like.

      • A tutorial would be awesome, thank you. It's more the use of the brushes more than the lighting I'm wondering about. I've always wanted to use Blender to sculpt claymation-type things but they always look to polished. What you've done is exactly what I'm looking for.
