Have a Good One!

yain.jpgSo, 2007 has already passed. I'll close off this year by wishing you all an excellent New Year's Eve. Before you shut down your computer, get in the mood to party by checking out this *cool* video by Yain Rodrigo Vieyra from Argentina. See you next year!

Yain writes:

My name is Yain Rodrigo Vieyra. I´m 18 years old and I came to the fantastic Blender 3 years ago. I´m from Argentina and I´m a sci-fi animation lover. I always wanted to achieve realism into my works, but I´ve made this work without that idea on mind.

This is a syncro animation test that I´ve made in two weeks without any plugin. The idea was to make a syncro between the moves and the rhythm. The track selected was "Love Is Gonna Save Us", from Benny Benassy. I was inspired by some music tracks and I rendered the ideas that came to me. Yes, strange, but now REAL.

Some tech information is that the face was controlled by a small part of bones. Not very detailed, but controlled with many bones in the lips. The camera was a continuous fly mode following a simple curve. The glows were made with a nodes composition and the final music compilation was made in Sound Forge, a sound editor. This music style is an ideal way to create strange machines and a big opportunity to capture the ideas into our imagination.

I´m working in a second, but more serious music video. The track will be "It´ll be ok", from Limp Bizkit, with a little realism touch.

  1. It's been an exciting Blender-year among others - so happy newyears to everyone!

Only negative comment on the video, is the spinning logo. I think it needs to go.

  2. A great music video, definitely better than lots of other stuff here that got a dedicated news post. BTW, to the author: It's not at all "strange" to get inspired by music and then using creative tools to render the ideas that come to one's mind. Much to the opposite, that's the way it has to work :-)

  3. RESPECT!!! That was really cool, I really like it
They sell this stuff over the web, see (if you don't know) http://animusic.com/
but the those over this site, are a bit boring after awhile, and yours really keep the interest all along :)

  4. Yain, that was great!!

I have about 3 songs queued up in my head that I would like to put into an animation like this. Unfortunately, I don't yet have the skill and I don't have the time to acquire the skill and I'm already twice your age! Sigh...
