Short Film: "Little Fairy"

littlefairy-deevad.jpgEarlier this month, David Revoy (DeeVad) posted about his short animation "Little Fairy" that he made using Blender.  It's certainly nicely done, especially "with a knowledge of 3d coming only from internet tutorials and forums; all of this during the freetime out of my job…"

What also makes it special is that he has released his models and textures (remember to right click and save as!) under the Creative Commons license.  You can see it here, or you can see it here (it's the one titled "Petite fee"), or you can see it via Google Video.  David also has quite an extensive portfolio which you might also want to take a look at.  Well done David!

Noice! An excelent little animation for someone that's just getting started. I would be most interested to see David be put in the next Orange project. I think he's got some talent that shouldn't go un-noticed.

Sweet! Love the wings. All blender internal rendering?

It's great to see people working with blender this way. You can really see that they are enjoying it and they do it just for fun in their free time. Btw. awesome portfolio, love his 2d digital paintings.

I was very sceptical to begin with, but when I watched the video, I think you pulled off a very decent job. What a accomplishment! Some people after two years has nothing but critique on the Blender UI and you pulled it of in a couple of months in your spare time :))

Incredible. Fantastic. The lighting was perfect. The scenes and the cuts were very professional. Excellent Fairy Model and textures. The whole world that you created was awe inspiring. Congratulations on a job well done.
