We've previously posted about "The Sprint" which is a project to get Blender to work in a VR/CAVE environment. Now the Blender Sprint project has set dates and is calling for participation.
The Sprint is set for September 21st through 25th, 2006. With the dates set, you can start checking your calendar and applying for a spot on the project which will be based in Innsbruck, Austria.Â

calling to do what ?
generate content obviously, BUT:
what R the demands ?
sure you can make 'just anything' but it has to be projected in a cube
there must be something 'special' about that;
otherwise, 'just take what's already there'
also, the call for community participation seems to be(-come)quite continous, therefore I hereby propose the appearant arising need for
a continous project-site, where not just source &updates are generated, but graphic-content, where collaboration (verse-blender?) is stimulated by giving newbies and not-so-newbies a sandbox where their skill's can be placed and updated (according to a 'quality' level)- so you get low poly crappy-towns (made by 'the not-so-good-YET')and stuff that can be used by animators who dont wanna meshmodel, but animate with high(-er) quality stuff like from the Orange.
Blender3d.org should have this 'projects' button under the 'community'
tab at the top of the homepage.(imho)
the point being: if one gets the hang of modelling, but lacks in other qualties(like UVmapping) good/great meshes can be uploaded and finished by people who like the object, but feel like doing a better job at the texturing.
others who'd like to do a funny animation about'....' wouldn't havo mesh anything but could get right at animating using provided models / scenes
not EVERYTHING has to start at the beginning.
am I making sence here ? or is this a stupid idea ?
umm, yeah... MOOOOOOOOO!!!!
