0

If you want to model and shade clay-like objects in Blender, then this is the right tutorial for you! Alexandre Albisser shares his techniques.

In this video we will create a handy toolbox for claymorphism compositions.

We will build the nodes setup for a fluffy clouds with animated flow, a setup to inflate any 2D design into a 3D base element made of clay, and a setup to create really cool clay noodles out of bezier curves with rounded end caps and perfect topology!

As for shading, this video contains tips to apply random colors to objects, tips to use any color you choose for different objects with a single material, and even tips to use different gradients colors on different objects with a single master material.

If you want to skip the tutorial and just use the results, then you can get the Claymorphism Assets/NodeGroup Pack from Gumroad for $2+

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
