Rigging Sprite Fright's Spiders

In a blog post on the Blender Cloud, Christian Bunyan report on Sprite Fright rigger Demeter Dzadik's Experience of rigging the short's spider. This post is the first of many looking at the various challenges Demeter faces when rigging all of Sprite Fright's different animals.

 

The blog post includes three video clips from Demeter, first walking through the initial spider rig (which made use of procedural rigging), then how he implemented feedback from Sprite Fright animator Rik Schutte, before finally showcasing the current/final state of the rig.
