In this video we look at an interesting workflow for painting concept art, based on photographs. Using "trace image to grease pencil" we can easily drag and drop a thumbnail sketch into Blender and turn it into a mesh, which works as a kind of Photoshop clipping layer, but with the added benefit of being able to mirror the texture and rotate, move and scale it quickly and symmetrically. Then, we can sample colors from the texture and paint on the mesh, to create concept art.
