The Blender core developers will get together for a one-week 'mini code quest' this April in Amsterdam!
Ton also wrote about this on the [Bf-committers] maillist:
Blender Foundation/Institute invited the core 2.8 contributors (who were here for the code quest too) for one week of workshops in the Amsterdam
HQ. Will most likely be 2nd week of April. Goals are:
- tackle leftover 2.8 design issues
- feedback from users (and the Blender studio team)
- plan work on 2.80-release, assign tasks
- define and schedule targets for 2.81 and 2.82
Participants: Bastien Montagne, Brecht van Lommel, Campbell Barton, Clement Foucault, Dalai Felinto, Jacques Lucke, Jeroen Bakker, Pablo Vazquez, Sergey Sharybin, Sybren Stüvel, Ton Roosendaal, William Reynish.
As usual we want to communicate and share progress as good as possible. Between now and the workshop everyone can also make sure we're provided with all the info needed to make the workshop a success.
Needless to say - it's time to get that 2.80 release out! But it has to be done good as well. Going to be interesting :)

Awesome!! Hey....Please do not not get rid of "Fake User" Thanks.....
Why not? I personally find it very irritating that I have to flag all unused materials I want to keep before saving + closing.
If they get rid of it, they need to implement a purge tool to get rid of unused materials.
Yes that's true, but that's my wish of how data management should work anyways, and I don't think anybody wants to remove fake user and automatic deletion without a proper delete system. I just consider the system a punch in the face of newcomers.
How about a 'Delete Unused' button?
Isn't that the "Save" button? :-)
No, it's " slave & close" button.
Yes, but also a button for deleting a material individually.

I'm not aware of this button, would you plz tell me how?
@Khader well, such a button doesn't exist, but I was proposing to add it.
OpenVDB support please!
"Do you wish to save changes before closing?"
where the view layer plugins, like in 2.79. where interactive mode like BGE, where fracture modifier and mantaflow, for many years in 2.8, great eevee and lame UI.
Where is your support to the developers? where is your productive criticism, where is the logic in saying lame UI while most of users are happy with the upgrades.
In regarding to what you asked, please check their vlogs and updates and road-maps before you drop irresponsible comments.
Mantaflow is being validated.
interactive mode was said to take years.
Been following the 2.8 development, thanks for all the hard-work, some great improvements.
Interesting ... What comes out earlier: new Half-Life, new Gothic or new Blender?..
