In this video series we will take an early look at Animation Nodes 2.1 in Blender 2.8.
We start the series with a simple AN setup: Positioning and animating some MetaBalls using the "Vector Wiggle" node.

I fear that this is an effort in the wrong direction!
I mean jacks Lucke is working in everything node, which should replace animation nodes, meaning that your course will be outdated after that, I'm just asking cause I have plans to learn it, but what stops me is waiting for everything node.
Thank
"Everything Nodes" will surely be built on top of or based on Animation Nodes but with even more data types and nodes to control "everything" in Blender... when it's done. Until then, we have Animation Nodes for 2.79 and sort-of for 2.8 and in these videos I play with what is available in 2.8 and show some basic concepts of working with data types, subprograms and so on. Learning these basic concepts is - IMHO - never a waste of time.
I meant waste of your time, cause when everything node is out, your course will be outdated, but from what you say, this won't be anytime soon, so it's okay
I've already watched the fist video, Great job man!
I really appreciate it.
Thanks for the clarification.
Thx & you're welcome :) I am also looking forward to "EN" because many times it is just much easier to get things done programmatically ... especially for me as a software engineer I would rather create a program that I can reuse and adapt than doing repetitive tasks by hand.
Just found out about Everything Nodes...
Can it do everything AN can do?
It should do more!
Think of it as AN tightly integrated all around blender.
Thats fantastic.
So much to learn.
