The Shapeshift add-on helps create dynamic mesh deformations.
Shapeshift was developed to make mesh deformation more dynamic and user friendly. When using the add-on, you're provided with two deformation systems:
Dynamic Lattice & Surface-Deformation Constraints
I noticed how tedious it can be deforming your objects using a Lattice. Having to go back to edit mode everytime can be annoying, so I managed to make it work in Object mode by generating lattice points which let you manipulate its target point. All points are managed well in order to increase workflow, trying to setup a lattice can be a time-consuming task. It's made much easier if tools are available to reduce the workload and time involved.
This operator allows you to instantly add constraints on your object with click&drag. Dragging out will increase the proximity of the face selection, which will then assign a constraint to its target.
Plans for v2:
- New ShapeKey system(SurfaceConstraint support!)
- Lattice from selection(Editmode, Dynamic)
- Turn entire process into modal operator(BGL,widgets, etc)
- GreasePencil constraints
