The Animator’s Toolbox: Preparing For Animation

0

Nimble Collective's Jason Schleifer is back with another video in which he shares his animation process. I've found his videos to be super insightful as well as fun to watch, so dive in and enjoy!

You've just been handed a shot to animate. Whoo hoo! You're all set to dive in and start making things move. BUT WAIT! I mean, sure, you know HOW to animate the scene, but do you know the WHY of the scene? Animating isn’t just making things move, it’s giving the illusion of life. By taking some prep time before you put pencil to paper (or cursor to vector, if you prefer) you vastly increase your chances of crafting a successful shot.

Jason Schleifer has posted another animation tutorial, this time dealing with how he approaches preparing to animate a shot, from defining the goal to gathering reference. Plus it comes with a handy, downloadable, quick reference guide.
