Jonathan released his latest work, Furry Land, not long ago. He has a very particular style and it pops out! Here is a quick Q&A on Furry Land.
How did you get inspired to create Furry Land?
Been wanting to make a fluffy looking 3D illustration for a while now, but was never totally happy with the results.
Had been looking at ways to make a fluffy cloud character for another project and came up with some material settings I was happy with.
Also saw the trailer for the Trolls film recently, where all the characters have a slight furry texture and thought it looked great.
What was your process to create this image?
I didn’t have a particular concept here I just knew I wanted some characters as part of the environment and one “hero” character. I liked the idea of this being a total contrast to the fluffy bits.
How long did it take you to complete it, from start to render?
Less than a week maybe 4 days. I could have taken longer and but in more fine detail but want to set realistic expectations of clients when commissioning art work.
What is your secret to create such a vibrant, colorful image?
I play with colour contrasts a lot, also do my final colour tweaks in photoshop using render passes.
Would you like to add anything else for the reader on this Image?
There should be a few more images in this style coming soon.
That concludes it for the Q&A. Do you guys have any other questions you would like to ask the artist? Don't hesitate to leave a comment below. Website

Wonderful colours. Great style. Two Thumbs up :)
Always good to see Poke's work. Well done.
Characters have a similar style as the cookie from Shrek :) really cute!
Somehow Johnathan's delightfully weird creations seem to blend everything from The Magic Roundabout, Bagpuss, The Clangers, and possibly even the Teletubbies (if that's not an insult). If his fabric characters could talk I'm sure they'd come up with some really strange substance-induced philosophy...
