Grease Pencil v2 development update

As you know, I’m working with Daniel (@_pepeland_) to improve Grease Pencil support for 2D animation.
We want to post an update of the status of the project. This is only a sneak peek of new features.
During last months we analyzed the tools and we have made a lot of progress. Now we have a new system of layers, palettes, colors and drawing brushes like other 2D animation tools.
Daniel has been working to find the best workflow to improve 2D animation while I was developing the new code.
This demostration doesn’t use my GP add-on. I’m working in the add-on to adapt it to the new Grease Pencil v2 features. We have decided to move some features from the add-on to C code.
I have created a small video (see below).
More info in the next weeks.

HI,
thank you for this great work!.
I think it’s a small step for you developers – but a great step for blender.
One of the most interesting features which began with just a sketching tool and finally became a big feature enabling 2D animations, just “like other 2D animation tools” … well, the word “just” is a understatement, because we know how big the potentiality of Blender and it’s community is.
Looking forward to a new Blender Open Source movie which is based on 3D / 2D mixed animation promoting the development of the Grease Pencil Tool.
So exiting ! – I am very much looking forward to this.
As of now, rendering out grease pencil animations is a bit awkward. Have you considered making grease pencil part of the normal render ? maybe as a node in the compositor for overlaying and integrating in final output ?
are you ever going to release any of these grease pencil stuff? i have been watching those videos since ages ,
anyway , its awesome work man ,, keep it up , looking forward to it , and egarly waiting for gpaddon
Regards,
Pratik
Yes, I want release al new Grease Pencil 2.0, but there are reason why I don’t release anything yet. The patch is on heavy development right now, and if I release something, maybe tomorrow you need to change all again. For example, I had to recode my add-on to adapt it to new GP v2.0.
I’m developing all code in my free time, so I cannot use my limited time packaging new versions, solving people bugs and so on.
Anyway, right now, I’m working to publish the branch and share all the C code.
Thanks for your understanding!
Thanks Antonio for the reply
I can understand . It might be buggy.. And it’s up to you to release it or not :)you can release buggy version too saying it’s still wip and use it on your own risk . But again it’s up to you man ….
I am just waiting for it .. i wanna test it . I wanna use it in actual production no matter how buggy it is … Waiting for its official release
Good luck man
Thanks
So excited! Thanks for your lovely work!
Awesome work.
