Blender 4.2 Extensions: The Definitive Guide

Todor Nikolov tries to cover all common question related to the new Blender Extensions in this video guide.
Blender 4.2 introduces a new concept called Extensions which can be confusing at first. Extensions is a new term for anything that “extends” Blender. Currently, it includes Addons and Themes. It is expected that Keymaps and Assets will also become Extensions in future Blender versions.
The main problem for existing users will be figuring out how Addons and Extensions are related, how to access official extensions (including the former “pre-installed” addons), how to install old addons, etc.

There are many, many people posting Blender tutorials to Yotube. I’ve found Todor’s the most helpful. His Rigify posts took Rigify to a whole new level for me. It went from being something I struggled to use to something I could construct really powerful rigs with very quickly. You are awesome Todor.
Two other Blender YouTube shoutouts: RoyalSkies and the sadly now defunct BlenderNPR. Check them out, and watch your Blendering soar.
What about people who work in an OFFLINE machine? We have to manually download dozens of addons. I hate this move from Blender.
