The Australian Blender studio Vizmill has created a series of videos for the Australian 'Road and Maritime' governmental department.
James Neale writes:
Hey all,
We just launch a series of 4 animated videos for the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) here in Australia.
There's a particularly gnarly piece of highway south of Wollongong called the Princes Highway which gets often packed with traffic and has had many accidents . The RMS are proposing a new motorway to bypass the problem area and they commissioned us to create a set of videos to help sell the idea to the community with the release of their Environmental Impact Statement.
All videos are 100% Blender from design through to edit. We used Blender Internal throughout as most things in the 3d scenes are shaded with those excellent toon shaders released by the Blender Institute in the cloud for "Glass Half" .. we could almost render directly from viewport, they were so good.

Nice work! This animation depicts where I live, so the bypass can't be built fast enough :P
Well done again from a fellow Blenderer :)
thanks man, I appreciate that.
The facebook page is going nuts with lots of locals demanding the project get started. Seems the traffic situation there is pretty damn dire.
These vids were fun to work on but also glad we're helping to galvanise the decision process.
I saw these the other day and wondered who did them! Good work James, really like the low poly style. I'm also from this area! Good to know there is other blender people around here Ross!
