Yanal Sosak’s ‘Justified’ first made me laugh. Then I noticed the smear of blood on his mouth.. What happened here?!

“Justified” A soldier potato skinning fellow potatoes to get the job done.
After my last artwork “Spicy Love” I had some ideas for new artworks, I created this from a few sketches I did.

Looks like he’s being punished for fighting. What’s more disturbing though is that a potato is peeling potatoes.

I think it’s more supposed to be an allegory for war, where killing is justified based on perceived atrocities or ideologies of the “enemy”. In the end soldiers are really just potatoes peeling potatoes and using an excuse to write off the moral quandry O_o.

Forget the smear of blood on his mouth. Is that a pool of blood on the floor he’s sitting in?
