A second breakdown video of 'Alien Invasion 2' by Beniamino Della Torre. Check out the first one and the original video!
Beniamino writes:
In this VFX breakdown you can see how I've re-created a fake world in which the scene takes place. All the scene is rendered with internal engine and composited inside Blender with nodes (except for the adding of lens flare, color grading and film grain). These techniques are basically similar to the ones used by professionals with their expensive softwares.

Thank you, Beniamino

Stunning! Blender is becoming more and more sophisticated! Especially when it are in artists hands.
Nice breakdown.
great breakdown, very useful!
Bravo, great pictures ! Very well done, very realistic !
But I hope the entire movie is not as choppy as the trailer. I would love it more if it would be a little smoother :-}
Thank you! I think you don't like the fil grain I've added, isn't it? Yes, maybe I've exceeded with it! I take this opportunity to explain that there's no movie... there are only these two trailers, that are a sort of experiment I've made to learn more about Hollywood VFX. Sorry for the trick!
wow this is awesome and such a great breakdown!!
Really nice! That's cool how you could get away with just an image texture, I never knew that.
Thanks. I've learnt those techniques watching Hollywood VFX breakdowns. In this way, I've understood that professionals always try to reach the result through the easiest way: it's not necessary to model the entire world with hills and mountains if you just have to use it as the background of the scene. In this case the depth of field has saved my work (and at Hollywood, this saves money and time)!
