The movie was created in MyPaint and composited in Blender.
Libre Graphics World writes:
Earlier this month TEMBE, a group of argentinian animators, publicly released "Viaje a la tierra del Quebracho" — the open movie they worked on most part of the last year.
Actually the premiere of the movie took place on December in Santa Fe during a film festival. However the team wasn't happy with the soundtrack's mastering and decided to postpone the online released till it's remastered. So in February the movie was finally posted online in HD. And here it is.

How many seconds in before you hear that Bandoneon and figure out it’s Argentinian... :)
Fantastic painting. Love the colours. And very naturally-done animation, too.
My thoughts exactly.
Hope really springs eternal in the mutant breast.
That was some fantastic animating! I love the style--very natural and felt very traditional and organic. I liked the story, though I don't speak the language. And I'm glad to finally see an animation that was done using MyPaint! This was a pleasant surprise!
Very nice animation. just wish i spoke said language.
Beautiful work! Great defined style and beautiful story. Another FOSS triumph for sure!
