'Viaje a la tierra del Quebracho' Open Animation Movie

9

The movie was created in MyPaint and composited in Blender.

Libre Graphics World writes:

Earlier this month TEMBE, a group of argentinian animators, publicly released "Viaje a la tierra del Quebracho" — the open movie they worked on most part of the last year.

Actually the premiere of the movie took place on December in Santa Fe during a film festival. However the team wasn't happy with the soundtrack's mastering and decided to postpone the online released till it's remastered. So in February the movie was finally posted online in HD. And here it is.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. That was some fantastic animating!  I love the style--very natural and felt very traditional and organic.  I liked the story, though I don't speak the language.  And I'm glad to finally see an animation that was done using MyPaint!  This was a pleasant surprise!
