Are you sure you didn't just take a photo and post it? LOL WOW! That is amazing. How did you get rid of artifacts and fireflies?
well he did do like 1600 samples didnt he, wouldn't that get rid of alot of them?
Just one little little useless note:
the Knob in Hi Res is not completely smooth.
BTW Excellent job!!!
Nice, but i can see 2 problems:
_ There is something slightly off in the right vertical edge of the front.
_ And I hate to say this, but there is a typo on the front as well: it says "Suuround" instead of "surround" :-(
He misspelled to insure us it's not a photo ;)
or ensure...
Actually I think it's 'assure' lol
Two more levels of subsurf to the knobs and this picture definitely deserves a place in 3DTotal.com! Excellent work! Amazing level of detail!
Muito realista!
Belo trabalho.
Years ago, before CG took over the business, our company built a huge scale model of a "Boom Box" radio, about 16'x25', for a television commercial. It was incredible. The speaker grills were near perfect. The beveled lettering was awesome too.
Problem was, when we finally set it all up on stage and got ready to shoot it, someone noticed that the Bass dial was spelled "Base"
Oy!
Virtually perfect in its genre.
very good :)
Volume wheel needs some subsurf.. Other than that it's pretty cool !
Grande Chris!!!
Very nice- I would say perfect, but for a couple of very minor details. (I mean this only to be constructive, it is an excellent render.)
1) The large lower nob does not have enough divisions around it's circumference- it's profile is visibly a polygon rather than a circle.
2) There are odd artifacts along the right edge of the front of the unit- it looks almost like aliasing, but it might be insufficient mesh resolution (as in on the knob), or slight misalignment of the points.
no. 2 looks like it's due to problems when resizing the image, not the actual render...
This render inspired me to learn Cycles - very nice work. I am returning to Blender after a long hiatus and it's looking better than ever, once BMesh is implemented (give me real Chamfer tool) I don't think I'll be going back to commercial software.
Very nice. One small thing I see - the Up/Down arrows around the Master Volume don't appear to be in the same position on either side of the knob. Could be an illusion, though.
Amazing!!!
Also, the typeface of the dts logo is wrong.

But yeah, as others have said, excellent work.
great stuff, but with 1600 sample? Need Loooong time to render, isn't it? Or just my fault...
