Ott Planetarium Releases Two New Blender-Produced Shows

The Ott Planetarium of the Weber State University has been using Blender for several years now to create shows for their full-dome digital projectors. Here are two of their latest projects.

Ron Proctor writes:

The Ott Planetarium is pleased to announce the release of two new Blender-produced shows!

"Star Hunting With Messier" is an Ott Planetarium Student Production that introduces the Messier objects to kids. The show runs about 14 minutes.

"A Glorious Dawn" is our newest Open Source Planetarium Show. John Boswell's (The Symphony of Science) stirring remix of Carl Sagan's Cosmos is featured in this planetarium adaptation of A Glorious Dawn. The show was produced by participants of the 2011 Blender Production Workshop. (Most of the participants were modeling and animating with Blender for the very first time.) The show runs 4'11" and is provided under Creative Commons Licenses.
