Becaue this is something completely new
one suggestion here have some blend sample file to show how to get basci things
like hoe to add material on suzanne / one or 2 material
then another one showing how to add procedural textures or UV image texture
i mean this could be added in a thread on blender artirst for instance of some sampel files in wiki page may be
i think this would help peoples a lot to get use to this new render engine
which looks a lot more photorealist then internal renderer!
nice work guys
So wait... Cycles is a completely new renderer, what advantages does it have other than interactability? Or are it's result equal to those of Blender Internal in which case you'd work using Cycles and render the final using BI
BI is a very old fashioned style of rendering. Cycles is how modern engines work, rendering in a way which is more true to life and gives better results. It will allow much better renders than BI ever could
The new blender wiki looks great. Very easy to read and navigate. Great work!I think it will add to blenders ever increasing popularity.
I wonder can you you old fraphic cards with this new add on ?
hey does it use the blender lights yet? and if not will it?
Ben, yes it can use blender lamps now.
