27

Alex sent us a note that he finished his graduate project: "The Risk not Taken" and animated short done with Blender. On his website is also some information about the project planing, shot design, and a gallery with some still renderings. Worth checking it out.

Alex writes:

You might still remember my last short films "A Glimpse of Light", "Evolution" and "In-Between Ends". Now I have finished my graduation Film, "The Risk not Taken", which again was produced in Blender (2.5x). I am planning on premiering it at the Blender Conference this year (if Ton likes it hehe), but I published a Teaser, that everyone can watch.

  3. Wow, incredible images. I can't believe how far Blender has come.

The Lord of the Rings font at the end bugged me, but I can't wait to see the finished product.

  4. Is that the internal renderer or what? what about compositing? those are the steps in the pipeline that I need to understand for my evaluation of making a transition from Softimage to Blender at our studio. Having a really hard time finding information on production rendering techniques in blender.

On the technical side, does anyone know how to make a nice bokeh like that? Can someone point to a tutorial or documentation? The visuals are really beautiful...
