Showreel: Plattform Advertising Agency

27

Zacharias Reinhardt writes:

Hi everyone,

this is our crazy, colourful showreel for the german advertising agency Plattform, where I'm employed. All the 3d elements are created with blender 2.5. Everything was combined in Adobe After Effects (most of the work was done here).

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. the 3d seemed fine. no pun intended, but this post REALLY seems like an advertisement. i might be off base here and this site is a perfectly fine forum for posting ads. i would love to see productions that utilize blender get a nod from the community at large, however. i'm a bit ambivalent. the 'showreel' is put together nicely, so bravo to all the artists involved, no matter what the media.

  3. I've seen quite a few showreels on blendernation.com before, and I see no reason why this one would be an exception, except that it's exceptionally good.

Probably the most Fun and Creative showreel I have ever seen. Really well done, keep up the awesome work! :D

  7. Very Nice! Your Creative Director and artists are phenomenal. Great imagination. That was a fun video. How much to advertise my company?!!

  8. It's great to see more high quality work done with Blender. And yes, commercialising (in the sense of being used in the industry) is the best thing that can happen to Blender. We need more real world problem solving input and financing of course =)

  9. i really liked it. i didn't even pay attention to the products they were offering, i was just focused on the animation and stuff. very nice. this gives me a lot of ideas.

  10. If I was a potential client I would have hired you guys.

Very well well done showreel. One of the best I've saw. Very professional but at the same time fresh and amusing.

    Well done.

I'm speechless! Don't know if this life will be enough for me to learn that much! lol!
Congrats to the agency, indeed very creative souls there.

  12. Love it. Your job is to be creative for your clients, and your show real demonstrates that you are extremely creative

  13. That was very good! I mean VERY good! Very professional! It's so great to see Blender being embraced more and more in the professional workflow! Good job, guys!

I tell ya, it won't be long until someone's using Blender as a main tool in their production pipeline on a major feature film one day! And it only makes sense, too--I think Blender is by far the fastest modeler out there in terms of producing a model from scratch, one of the best UIs ever, and it's growing to be one of the most well-featured packages around--all in my opinion.

Add Bmesh, the real-time non-BGE physics, the GSoC revisions, and a finalized Cycles all in a stable release, and there's just no telling where we'll see Blender usage! I'm just ecstatic about what Blender's future holds!
