Seattle Blender User Group Meeting: Saturday June 4th

4

Blenderheads in Seattle are meeting up this Saturday. Check out the programme below. Have fun dudes!

Oscar Baechler writes:

Come down to The Art Institute of Seattle's north campus for a day of tutorials, presentations, networking and good times. Beginners and veterans of Blender are all welcome, and lessons will cover a variety of skill levels and topics. Whatever your skill level, we love adapting on the fly to help your needs!

Additionally, SeaBUG is taking requests for tutorials. If you'd like to have a specific topic covered, click "Contact the Host" and an experienced Blender user will likely be able to prepare a lesson plan in advance.

Topics and guests for Next Seabug: Saturday, April 9th

  • Beginner Hour/Speed modeling competition! Seabug begins with 60 to 90 minutes of beginner instruction on Blender. At the same time, our expert users will rock out to a speed modeling competition! Winner chooses where the reception's at?
  • Cycles! It's the new render engine revolution taking the Blender community by storm. get your first primer on it at Seabug!
  • Mike Pan on cool game engine antics?
  • Oscar on his adventures in Papagayo and lightning production animation!
  • Freeform Q&A. Bring up something you don't know, and we'll all argue about how to do it!
  • Who knows what else??? Check back later to see what kind of crazy tutorials and project demos we're adding to the itinerary.
  • Seabug Reception! Sushi? Mexican? Some newfangled downtown Seattle hotspot we've never tried?

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. This is the worst part of my 4 day / 40 hour work week schedule - I never have a Saturday off to check out a SeaBUG meeting! Some day I'll get a weekend off that syncs up with a meeting.
