Gottfried Scott Hofmann at Blenderdiplom just released his new tutorial explaining the use of the new Fluid Particles in Blender 2.57. It also shows how to create an outline around text objects using reflections.
Note: The current version of Blender is not accelerated via OpenCL as Enj's Game Engine version is.

Also check out his previous tests he did, which are quite stunning.

Nice! Fluid particles are something I'm really excited about. Thanks for making a tutorial, Gottfried :)
I particularly like the particle test. Looks awesome!
nice tutorials but......
1)his voice is the most frustrating thing ever....
2)his arrogance flirts with stupidity
Trully yours
Michael
... as is your comment.
good job Gottfried
@michael
Well, afaik he's german - as I am ;)
It's about the content, not about how it's presented.
I think he's doing a great job.
Also, your comment wasn't really "constructive", you know?
hmm i was tinking about using metabals as the dupli object so you have some kind of tesselation but i don't tink most computers will be capable of that.
Cool tutorial, and we should listen to girlfriends a lot more !
Excellent! Very nice- with some fluid particle surfacing we'll have a much better fluid simulator!
well tested it out and it works if you add a metaball as dupli object
there are errors in viewport but in the render it works fine
look this is awesome

render took 27 sec
can someone explain this to me? is there a way to make this look like water? or fluid because it just looks like a lot of balls
@Christopher
Fluid Particles are "work in progress" as far as I know.
There isn't any surface generation implemented yet.
The only way to get a proper surface is to use metaballs as the dupli object and a LOT of particles.
But this will likely force your computer to crash I guess...
yes it is very very unstable
but it works
i am now testing to get it look better.
Thanks for the plug, Claas! It's really cool to see users like axel further explore the possibilities of the fluid particles. And hopefully Andrew will also do a tutorial using them :)
Thankyou for this amaziong tutorial :)
Gottfried should get an award for his terrific (and in-depth) tutorials -- thank you!
Does anyone know what the status of surface generation is? It's been a while since I've heard anything.
Really great tutorial. I'll be playing with this for a while...
Thanks a bunch.
Great! Good tutorial, Gottfried (as usual)! Thanks!
This is the first time I've ever seen a tutorial from you. That guy michael was being an idiot! Your voice is very clear considering your first language is German! I'll bet michael only speaks one language, am I right Michael? Why else would he say something so completely wrong? And I didn't hear even one bit of arrogance. You seem humble and that joke at the end about your girlfriend is a good example of that (and seriously funny!)
I liked the fast pace. I only had to watch it once to remember almost everything so you did a great job at teaching.
Michael, go learn another language, then learn how to use Blender and make tutorials, then give a tutorial in that other language so we can see how awesome you are and how wrong I am. Ha!
Gottfried: Cheers, can't wait to check out your website!
Gottfried being arrogant and doing this site and tutorials for free?
LOL I would consider that a logic fail.
THX for the video Gottfried.
Is this real time, or rendered?
His English is much better then many people around in Hawaii.
