  1. This build sounds well awesome been throwing luxrender round the farm here, well impressed at the flexibility of the CPU/gpu systems.

Look forward to playing with thie one!

  2. it could have a force update on mat preview, and also it seems kinda sluggish to send back rendered image to blender render viewport. otherwise it's just kickass. cpu+gpu+network is the future for rendering :)

@txrx do you admin a render farm? and do you have luxrender?!

  3. Grandmaster B on

LuxRender uses OpenCL which is supported on ATI cards (probably not on mobile chipsets). Recent drivers should have the OpenCL runtime included. ATI had put a lot of effort in OpenCL ...

  4. @Juan

I am an ati user (and old HD4850) too and I have no problems using the hybrid mode. It uses opencl not nvidia cuda.

  5. @Martin: If you're referring to the lack of updates after changing material properties, then this is a limitation in Blender. Blender doesn't notify LuxBlend that something has changed. We've been begging for callbacks for quite some time, but it didn't make it into the 2.57 release :(

  6. I´ve tried to render on two different computers, both with ATIs with the GPU+CPU and I've only had black screens as results. Bad luck I guess, anyway thanks for the info about Luxrender not using CUDA.

  7. Do you use windows or linux??

AFAIK you need a recent catalyst driver (with opencl support... 11.3 does work here on windows 7) AND the amd opencl SDK 2.4, otherwise the opencl part of luxrender won't work, only the software inplementation. Be aware that for the moment, GPU accelerated operations are somewhat restricted tho.

    J.
