I would like to bring-up to your attention a BGE related project, which is nicely showing up the BGE(b2.49b) graphical GSLS capabilities.
This air-race related project is a non-commercial open -source freeware and source .blend file will be released for common good.
I’m a second team member for the flight model, game logic & etc coding.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Community Lead at n8n.

Nice Work! Just one little suggestion: Make clear that there is a windshield by putting some Frame structure or at least scratches on it. You can see the distortions of the plexiglass (very neat) but you don’t really know where they’re coming from, cause the glass is so clear you can’t see it…
But very nice Material!

Nice Work! Nur eine kleine Anregung: Machen Sie klar, dass es eine Windschutzscheibe, indem einige Rahmenkonstruktion oder zumindest Kratzer drauf. Sie können die Verzerrungen des Plexiglas (sehr sauber) zu sehen, aber Sie nicht wirklich wissen, wo sie herkommen, des Glases führen Kommen ist so klar, Sie können es nicht sehen … Aber sehr schönes Material!

Wow! This is probably the most beautiful flight simulator I’ve ever seen! I hope they model a super high resolutijon detailed landscape including realistic plants and rocks. Then it would be the first flight simulato which rivals the visuals of the real world.

Mr. Martinsh’s video is a real-time shadows & shader code test. The scene is a test version for the presentation etc.

The BGE_AirRace project is all about the air-racing experience.

We use b2.49b, because the b2.5+ is still a beta and whole code base & game logic is made with b2.49b.
Once official b2.6(?) with documented BGEAPI is available, we can start the overhaul planning.

When it comes to the scene/landscape/terrain/map resolution & details, I rather go with good enough route from air-racing point of view.

A good fps is needed, because your flying ~300kmh at ~15m AGL and heavily focusing for proper racing-line & air-gate passing attitudes.

We don’t have a site or blog. It sound like a extra job. So far the BA-forum works fine. More or less.

Hallo Danke für Ihre Meinung und Kritik. Herr Martinsh's Video ist ein Echtzeit-Schatten und Shader Code zu testen. Die Szene ist eine Test-Version für die Präsentation usw. Nach offiziellen B2.6 (?) Mit dokumentierter BGEAPI verfügbar ist, haben wir die Überarbeitung der Planung beginnen können. Wenn es um die Szene / Landschaft / Gelände / map Auflösung und Details geht, habe ich eher mit gut genug Route von Luft-racing Sicht gehen. Eine gute fps erforderlich ist, weil ihr von eurem fliegenden ~ 300kmh bei ~ 15m AGL und stark konzentriert für die richtige Renn-line & Luft-Tor vorbei Haltungen. The graphics is really impressive! If somebody told that it’s not Blender – I had to believe it. It’s the really good level of design. Maybe it need some work with clouds and water but other parts are almost perfect. I don’t know about sport planes physics too much so I can’t say “it’s good” or “it’s bad”. But this rotating propeller amazed me :)

"Bender Nation" LOL))) Das erinnert mich sofort Futurama:))) Die Grafik ist wirklich beeindruckend! Wenn jemand gesagt, dass es nicht Blender – ich hatte es einfach nicht glauben. Es ist die wirklich gute Niveau des Designs. Vielleicht ist es müssen einige Arbeiten mit Wolken und Wasser, sondern auch andere Teile sind nahezu perfekt. Ich weiß nicht, Sportflugzeuge Physik zu viel wissen, so kann ich nicht sagen, "es ist gut" oder "es ist schlecht". Aber das rotierende Propeller mich erstaunt:)
