Last month the Caju Digital Agency concluded this work using Blender 2.5 on all design and 3D animation of the mascot Mr. Tuba from Pizzaria Atlântico (Pizzeria Atlantic) from Recife - Brazil.
The work is being presented in two major local TV stations. We're providing a brief making-of too.

Great character and great production. Good job!
BTW Go Brazil @ World Cup
good rig setup after looking at making of
...just cant believe blender has come that far..i remember the ol' 2.40 days and to think that finally blender is up on commercials and u can say "hey i use that program" is just stunning...well..idk...blender is just too good :)
The character is well designed and the animation is great, especially the "lip" sync is awesome.
Its almost perfect! I wish me more complex materials, but i suppose its intended ;)
Congrats!!!
EDIT: And thanks for the Making-of!!! :D
Very good animation ! Good work !! :)
Alas the making of can't be viewed in Germany. (Seems they don't have the right to use the soundtrack/music?) :-(
I really liked the lip sync method of animating poses for each letter. It makes great sense but I don't think I've ever seen anybody do that in a tutorial before. The other comment I have is"Wow do I every have a lot to learn about rigging."
Nice job. And very cool making of. That rig was amazing.
Hi everybody!
Thanks for all the comments!
Keith Sogge, I needed a practical lipsync rig. It was when I left the computer, picked up a pen and a paper
and had this idea. I do not know if anyone has done this before. Probably yes. It certainly isn't the most powerful lipsync rig, but it's practical.
Nice!
The shark looks a bit stoned tho...
Now you know why sharks are famous for having the "munchies" ;P It's all in the secret sauce...
I like the shark and i'm a bit stoned tho..
Great acting, little dude! Very expressive, excited, and enthusiastic performance.
cool commercial:) that shark looks great and has fine animations!
Thanks for sharing your making of! The stuff in the commercial looks deicious, got hungy seeing that :D
Thanks for the new comments!
Dono, I can say the same or more about your work.
rbrb, Germany has been the third country accessing our website. Here’s an alternative link to the making-of with no audio: http://www.vimeo.com/12699429
Great work, as usual, Lucio!
Congratulations! :)

Hi, Simon!
Please try now again.
Thank you, Virgilio!!
Nice way better than I could do. I'm glad blender is getting around. Mr Tuba a shark that like's pizza?
It's a shame the acting prevented the 3d character from really integrating seamlessly: in the first scene the actor is looking at the final location of the shark before he even starts entering the screen, and in the next scene his gaze is really inconsistent: looking several inches above the head of the shark makes the whole thing look fake... It's not easy, but getting this right could be more important than having absolutely perfect lip-sync.
Thank you for your comment, @fantome.
When we were invited for this work, there was already the shooting.
But these considerations are even good.
