I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

:OO awesome image!!
what's also sweet, is that the blend file is available, many thanks for the inspiration.
Thinking of the great things artists can create with blender is so uplifting, now if I just got my a** in gear...
Really nice materials. Congratulations! LuxRender rocks!
Uhm, I am somewhat surprised that this shows up here, as I have it submitted to the blenderart gallery, and I wouldn't have deemed it worthy of a blendernation post.
But nonetheless is very nice to have it showcased here :)
@4museman: this version shown here is blender internal.
Very nice materials and lighting, very pleasing to the eye, the only crit is that it looks too "clean", a bi too "blenderish" :)
@loramel: Ohh... That's brilliant even more! ;)
Very nice image. It looks very natural in my opinion. Congratulations Martin !

@Santiago: I am currently in the process of doing a short where I aim for a high visual standard. See here: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=162804 and here http://www.loramel.net/blender_minutes/category/aras-tale/
