Blender was featured in last week's episode of Click - 'the BBC's flagship technology programme'. Kate Russel talks about Big Buck Bunny, Elephants Dream and how to get started with Blender.
Kate writes:
While big budget animated films are all the rage for the likes of Disney and Pixar, you can actually create your own low budget production using open source software that you can download for free if you visit blender.org.
[...]
Persevere and you will be amazed by what you can create.
Right on, Kate!
It's a fun item to watch, and Super3boy must be thrilled to bits to make his appearance on the British National Television! The amount of high-profile coverage that Blender is receiving these days is amazing..

Blender on the BBC? Fantastic news..... with a couple of million viewers this should bring the name of Blender to a great many people who may not have heard of it before! Great to see Super3boy mentioned, his tutorials rock!
Wow, pretty cool, sweet!
Praise God. I love using Blender... it's a great program. Check out the new header for Minosa Films for proof:

This is some good news. I do wonder if she actually tried to use Blender or if she was simply reading the auto-cue that was about someone else's experiences.
@Bart: How did you get to know all of this single-handedly? are you a web-spider? :)
Thanks for the great news and keep up crawling the international network in search of Blender news.
@Ali: people mail us the news ;-) If you ever spot something, leave us a message!
More intuitive! BBC is a troll.
she said superboy3, instead of super3boy.
Now BBC should show the full shorts.
blender will be the nest greate tool for VFX in Movies... Just a few years more.
Bart, we should be bold and ask BBC, if we can place for the next few days a link to Blender on there webpage, with a little paragraph. At least they talked about us, so they can round it up with a little article on their webpage.
@Cyrr: there already is a link on the mentioned page. They played nice :)
I think the Click programme is also aired on BBC World, which is broadcast all over the world. Even Better!
Excellent, exposure on the BBC, now that's global reach!
I guess the woman that introduces that programs is not just a pretty face if she was happily making stuff with Blender in 6 hours.
Thanks for the link. I just watch, and liked it.
YAEH!
yes ! super :-)
realy good pub for blender .
Wow! That is really cool. Blender is taking off really fast. This will bring yet more users to use this great piece of software.

Whoo-hoo! Personally, I don't watch BBC, but if Blender's on TV that's good. Also somewhere other than the Netherlands! :p
"LE monde" an important french newspaper, if not the most famous, ha sp ublished an online article abour BBB:

blender on bbc thats nice, praize goes to kate.
Infact I wish the dutch tv was as good as the bbc. ;)
I was really excited when I saw it on there. I also sent an email to the BBC to see if we could possibly get a follow-up episode.
Thanks for the kind comments above.
Thats awesome that Blender was featured...but I have to disagree with her that super3boys tutorials are helpful. I've learned absolutely nothing from them...and the first to minutes are an infomercial. Sure its exposure for Blender on all fronts...but throwing more crap out there doesn't help it. Thank goodness for Elephants Dream, BBB, and Yo Frankie for showing the true guts behind it.
To the comment by Paroxysmal above, I believe your argument may be skewed. My tutorials are aimed the beginning users with little to no experience with the program or 3D modeling software in general. The presentation of my tutorials was perfect because I am pretty sure that would be the audience viewing the show. If you have had a good deal of experience in the program of course my tutorials will not help you. In response to 'infomercial' statement I only 'advertise' my forum in order to off-load some of the questions that people have about blender. Due to time constraints it is impossible for me to reply to the massive amount of email I get related to my tutorials. It also has spawned collaboration projects, peer work critique, and many user tutorials.
I hope I cleared things up.
You can also watch the programme in better quality on the BBC iPlayer website...

It's available until 12:59am Monday 15th September. Fast forward to 19.30 for the Blender bit.
Hurray Blender and BBC.
A Super3boy fan!
They talked about blender on the bbc world radio the other day. That's worldwide not just UK
