The 3d world magazine has published a very good tutorial, showing how to setup a worm cartoon character for animation with Blender. The tutorial includes a PDF file, fully illustrated and all models and files.
This may even look short, only four pages, but the content is very good. If you don't know how to setup a character ring with Blender, it's a good start!
Visit this link, to read the description of the tutorial and to download all related files.

uh? wasn't this in here a while ago?
oh and it says ring, not rig :)
Interestingly enough I found this tutorial on their website from Elephant's Dream hereat http://www.computerarts.co.uk/tutorials/3d__and__animation/steps_to_success if it was already published sorry.
uh? wasn't this in here a while ago?
yeah.. I think it was
I does look like it's been covered before but, I didn't catch it last time so it's new to me. I'll definitely have to check it out. Thanks.
I actually saw the article! & nearly bought the mag!
Yes this article was mentioned before in June, but it was not available to download until now (Oct). If you wanted the tutorial you had to buy the magazine, which isn't easily available to everyone at a reasonable price.
I am a lucky bastard ;)
This tutorial will be very usefull for my animated movie project WORMAGEDDON:

mallow, cool! let me know if you have any questions ( I wrote the tutorial)
Thanks, Bassam. If there will be some problems I`ll e-mail you. Thanks again :)
Very nice! I finally know how to rig!
Beautiful tutorial mallow; so precise and exansive without being overly written. I must admit it taught me alot - particularly about how to think about rigging but I am left confused about how to deal with soft bodies and lattice's in the rig - i find the mesh deforming when the lattice hits a deflector and not when the mesh does.
Does anyone have any suggestions/pointers?
