Particle Fluid Surfacing

Surfaced Particle fluidsJust a quick update on the particle fluids development, Raul (farsthary) has finally after much patience and help,  finally got his particle fluids rudimentary surfaced.

Using the marching cubes/tetrahedrons methods he has finally got nice particle fluids and the results are very impressive.

Hi all

I have finally fully implemented the particle surfacing core , is done! , well , there’s a trick, is only the core and is in lots of ways unoptimized , I’m researching optimization alternatives and also I will need to implement the complete OpenGL shading (normals, faces…) with the correct blending between different particle types.

Particle physics in Blender never cease to amaze me. Well done! :D

  2. 2 TimC

Read the title too quick, ended up with: Particle Fluid Surfing – that’d almost be better than regular surfing…

    Great work though!

I sometimes Particle Fluid Surf, and TimC’s right…it really is better…

Btw – great progress, it actually looks like that live particle-simulation we saw at the 3Dstudio max presentation last year, and YOU did that all alone – thats pretty darn impressive.

I really can’t wait to try your particle improvements out Farsthary, it’s been a long wait – but WHOLLY SCHMOLLY worth it!

that guy is very very cool :D

Wow this part is really going great. It would be one of Blender’s greatest addition. Go!

Knowing that he is in a country that is isolated by a blockade, you have to respect the guy…

It makes me feel ashame I can’t contribute more to Blender other than by making the nice pictures :)

Brains knows no blockade, fortunately – not even war – can prohibit our brains from working ;)

hehe, some phenomenal work happening here wow.

This is great news. Always exciting to hear what’s up-n-coming and being integrated into Blender!

I thought I’d share this article from CGW on fluid simulations at the Macro level: http://www.cgw.com/Publications/CGW/2009/Volume-32-Issue-12-Dec-2009-/Viewpoint.aspx

Talks about how smooth particle hydrodynamics solvers, like RealFlow, and how they’re not so great for close up shots and how Fusion CI Studios addresses this challenge.

    Enjoy!
