Rogério Perdiz (of Orion Tear fame) is working on a new animation project and is asking for your financial support.
Rogério Perdiz writes:
Hey,
My name is Rogério Perdiz, I'm from Portugal and for the past 4 years I've been working on a 10 minutes high quality short animation about people resilience when dealing with life limitations. I named it "Resilence Satelle" and that stands for "follower of one ability to overcome limitations".Mostly alone but with some help from volunteered blender and sound artists, we were able to ensemble a small teaser to give you an idea of the desired looks. This was all done in a 6 years old workstation doe (It's the same that made my previous short "Orion Tear"), so this doesn't represents the desired look, just the possible one.
I've been financing this project by working exclusively as a freelance blender artists. Although I'm very thankful for having work, it consumes all my time, so I'm forced to delay Resilience Satelle for undetermined time. That's why I decided to give a try to the indiegogo crowd-funding. If the goal was reached I could work full time on finishing Resilience Satelle and update my workstation to something more recent and capable of deliver a more interesting and detailed look to the short. If it doesn't... well, then probably Resilience Satelle will be completed anyway... someday on a distant future.
Hope you guys like, this is the good stuff ...no cheating with Adobe stuff or any other commercial software. Let us know what you think, about the trailer and campaign, but remember, we're probably very far away, so speak Loud! :)
You can learn all about Resilience Satelle on our website, or on Indiegogo.com.
Thanks!

The link to the Indiegogo campaign is a little hard to find so here it is:

Good point, I've changed the text.
Orion Tear was pretty great and I'm glad to see this is a step up in every aspect.
BTW the -dark- blue guy looks a lot like Sonic!
Hey! Thank you very much for the featuring Bart!
Also thank you Gottfried for noting, I 'm what is called a real noob in web design :)
Thanks DimitrisC! I guess he is a mix between Sonic and the Nights character indeed, two of my favorite game characters... next short I'll probably will include also one Italian guy with a plumber hat and a mustache :D
Glad to see this project getting some attention!! But it still needs more attention!!!!!!!!!!!!
:) Thanks! Fells good to read that kind of encouragement!
Maybe try this: http://www.kickstarter.com
A funding platform for creative projects.
Thanks for the link! Kickstarter was my first choice, but, at least as far I know, they just accept USA projects... I've read the rules before making the indiegogo campaign, only if they change them recently, have they?
Everyone should support this short, a lot of talent from Rogper was put in this project and by the way looks great.
Thanks for the nice words Gil :) ...It was mostly just allot of time put on this project doe, not sure about the talent XD
Looks good. There are a few points in the trailer where the sound effects make it difficult for me to make out the narration.
Thanks! Yeah, it's a known issue :/ the narration was supposed to be by a lady (Joana Alves), but at the recording time she had several life problems and couldn't make it. With the time running out the soundtrack and sound-work author (André Santos) ended up giving it a try on the narration and this was our best result. Some also say that the soundtrack also could be lower :)
I've include subtitles on the youtube version to help a bit.
Looks like it could make a really nice game :)
:) Thanks! Sure, sometimes even I wish it would be a game, or a short and a game... sadly a game turns out to be even more expensive in time, resources, knowledge and money then "just" a short animation :(
Good job with the trailer. Very nice result.
I would love to see more,in the finished film, especially of the village.
You seem very passionate about this film and I would hate to see you give up.
I would also love to see the finished film.
Thanks for the nice words and encouragement!
In the finish film you got to know the village a bit, most action will be in front of Noam (the one at my right) house doe, but the number of sceneries was one of the big production problems. They are mostly done now, but they're still a bit "empty", need more location objects to fill in.
I only give up something if I'm forced to give up ;)
Thank you very much everyone that sponsored this project, I'll remember your gesture!
Also thanks for everyone that talked about it and, last but not least, thanks blendernation!
The campaign is over and the money should have been already returned.
4 years to make a 10 min animation? Either you're a serious novice, seriously computer illiterate or its a typo. I mean, to be fair I started out a little slow, but this year alone I've done dozens of animations and games, and I have a full time job so it's not like I'm dedicating my life to it, but really, like a few seconds a month? And 4 years for that? jeez you're shit. I can design, model, rig, texture and animate everything in that in my sleep.
Well, I'm just not as good as you... but yeah, actually more then 5 years that I'm struggling to do this... but it will be done someday.
Where can I find your portfolio? I want to watch some of your animations. Please post a link.
