Review: The Massive Mammoth Masterclass on Rigging

9

Fax on Blender has written an in-depth review of CMIVFX’s Massive Mammoth Masterclass on Rigging.

From the review:

As promised here is a review of CMIVFX’s Massive Mammoth Masterclass on Rigging, by Nathan Vegdahl (I’m linking to a presentation video because there is no product page on CMIVFX for the bundle. You’ll find links to Volumes 1 and 2 on the video description).

Well… it is awesome. No really, it is. I’m beginning to wonder if there’s anything short of awesome in Blender education out there. Either there isn’t or all my homework picking the products really pays off ;)

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. wow never thought that blender tutors would ever buy 3d training.
hope you learn a lot Jonathan so u can teach us better.

  2. You will find that almost all good blender tutors watch out for training material that is out there, and most of them probably buy the books /dvds even if they feel they are competent with blender.

  3. I bought this a while ago and I have to agree with Jonathan.
I especially enjoyed the skinning process. The workflow described was new to me, but really helpfull IMO.

(I consider myself somewhere between noob and intermidiate when it comes to rigging.)

  4. @Jonathan:

I love your attitude of always being willing to learn more. That is the path to becoming a true master !

Wow, that sounded kind of zen :)
