Create amazing Art with Geometry Nodes in Blender!

I love Blender...

...and I love to look at the stuff that people do with it. But recently I came across a guy who does amazing 3D artwork and uses Modo as part of the process.

I've used Modo; I still have a license of it that I bought just before it was bought by Foundry. It's a great piece of software and the renderer is still great. For product shots, it's a banger!

But for Artwork? I'll be honest. I was surprised, but not shocked. I mean, great renderer, right? Put to good use, you can achieve anything. And this guy, Mathew Borrett, is creating amazing stuff.

but it got me thinking, Could I achieve something similar in style in Blender. theoretically, of course, it's a 3D tool, it can be made to do almost anything.

The only stumbling block might be the render times, but that just requires a fast, powerful, beast of a machine...and, wow, do I have access to one of those right now!

The wonderful guys over at Lenovo have allowed me access to one of their Thinkstation P620s with an AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5994WX in it as well as 256GB of Ram and an Nvidia RTX A6000 graphics card. That's 64 Cores of rendering power in a single box, not to mention one of the fastest GPU render setups at the moment.

So this one is all done on the P620, which I thoroughly recommend you take a look at. It's a state-of-the-art piece of hardware for your 3D software.

Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching

I am a Senior Creative over at Space Digital in the North West of England. I've been creating CG stuff for the TV and Corporate World for (mumble-mumble) years now and have been lucky to work on some amazing projects. I discovered Blender about 9 years ago, opened it and, like so many other, immediately shut it down, but several years ago I needed to so something simple and cost effective (ie. free) and Blender was the only way. I have never looked back and use it now all the time alongside Maya every working day. I also have a YouTube channel called GENVFX where I teach people how to use every modifier one by one and as deeply as I can as well as the occasional tutorial.
