Behind the Scenes: Living Room

About Me

Hey, my name is Philippos and I am from Germany. I´m currently in the 4th semester of my master's studies in architecture. I´ve always wanted to learn a 3D program and started to learn Blender in 2020 when the first lockdown happened. Since then Blender is a core part of my design process, I work as a freelancer in the archviz space and after I´m finished with my master's degree I would love to work full-time as a 3D-archviz artist.

Design | Floorplan

This is a design from my main project this semester, which is a public building combined with living in Vienna. The perspective is from the living room towards the kitchen.

Modeling

The basic model was made in ArchiCAD and then exported as a 3ds into blender. All the extra details and furniture were modeled/added in Blender.

The windows were added using the Archipack-Addon

Texturing

For the texturing process I mainly use textures from Megascans and if needed adjust the color. For the ceiling, I used a simple concrete texture from Textures.com and used the texture as a displacement to give the texture a more rough feeling.

Lighting

For the lighting, I used an overcast HDRI from Polyhaven and a sun-light with a blackbody-node, set to a temperature of 5500.

Post Processing

I used the compositor in blender to do the basic post-processing with the EXR-Fileformate and then exported it to photoshop to add some corrections/filters and grain.
