BCON: Use the Blender Add-on, Get a Month of Sketchfab Pro for Free

8

Blender Conference starts today and the Sketchfab team is pleased to be among the attendees. Several of us will be there, eager to meet and connect with the talented artists and developers who make the Blender and Sketchfab communities such vibrant, creative groups.

In addition to our team members being available at BCON, one of our Sketchfab Masters, Conrad Justin, will be hosting a tutorial, Creating an epic Halloween scene from scratch with Sketchfab assets, on Saturday, October 29 at 2:30pm. We’d love to see you there!

And now for the big news! In celebration of the Blender Conference and 20 years of Blender being open source, for a limited time, we’re giving all Blender users who export models to Sketchfab with our plugin a free month of Sketchfab Pro! All you have to do to get your account upgraded is to upload a model directly to Sketchfab using Blender’s Sketchfab plugin. If you haven’t yet tried Blender, this is the perfect opportunity. Just download it, install the Sketchfab plugin, get creating, and upload your finished work to your Sketchfab account. Here’s some inspiration to get you started.

You can download the latest version of the plugin on GitHub. Please note that this plugin has been tested for Blender 2.83, 2.93 LTS, 3.0, 3.1.0 and 3.2.0, and 3.3.1 LTS.

This promotion runs from October 27, 2022 until December 31, 2022. For more information on how to export your Blender models directly to Sketchfab, check out our Help Center guide. And don’t forget that Sketchfab’s Blender plugin also makes it easy to import any of our nearly 1 million free Creative Commons-licensed Sketchfab models into Blender.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. This site is very poorly optimized...
even on a great PC it crashes...
even with only two tabs open...

Only if you need a lot to get over the stress of having to navigate such a poorly optimized and managed site...

Smaller sites navigate much better in the 3D environment...
They should improve this before, instead of so much publicity...

    That's the truth

  2. I thought too, but I use hardware acceleration in the web browser...
even play in the browser, but Sktechfab is very slow.

Yesterday I tested it and it worked fine only on iOS app on mobile...

    Fix this...
