Blender's Multires Sculpting Performance Increase

Another day, another area of Blender gets a significant performance boost. This time around, it's multires sculpting that is getting the increased performance treatment, courtesy of a patch by veteran Bmesh developer Joseph Eagar!

The performance increase can be especially felt on base meshes having upwards of 10000 faces, with the patch more efficiently calculating normals via a function that operates on a subset of faces rather than the whole mesh each time a stroke is made.

    • Hey José! If you check the video posted in the article, everything after 20 seconds is the old performance, and everything before is the new improved performance. You can clearly how choppy the old performance is after the 20 seconds mark when compared to the beginning of the video, where the stroke is smooth and responsive!

    Wow, it's outstanding!
Just the only thing your video explanation needed was this detail, some indication.
But we don't have to do this of adding or changing this value, right?

And, do we have to install some patch or it is official and native to Blender? Simply download the latest build and enjoy?
