Hi everyone,
In this video, we talk about some exciting news shared by Pablo Dobarro on Twitter. They're planning on doing a full redesign of how the sculpt mode works in Blender in an attempt to improve the overall performance with high poly sculpting. Included in this announcement was a visual demonstration showing an early prototype with superior performance running on a laptop.
Thanks for watching and have a great day!

Ufff...awesome! hope there could be a Pablo Dobarro in animation and VSE...but what he's doing is just amazing and i hope it can compete with Zbrush soon enough :D
Performance is the only real issue with Blender, especially in sculpting. Great news
I've got into blender over more than a decade ago after a new release was made and it featured sculpting mode, along with a render of a sculpted Cerberus on the website to showcase what that feature was capable of. While I love blender, when it comes to sculpting performance in was always painfully awful for me. Like pure garbage.
So I'm really happy to see that I'll be able to sculpt in blender in the near future if it finally gets decent performance, plus that other tweak where you can switch objects without having to switch modes first, pure awesomeness
I would love to see this tested on something like a Surface Pro. I have a much older model, and haven't really been able to use it for much.
