Blender 2.90: Grease Pencil from Mesh

2

Blender 2.90 is right around the corner with a bevy of new updates, one of which is the ability to convert Meshes into Grease Pencil strokes.

Authored by Grease Pencil developer Antonio Vazquez, this commit generates the strokes based on the mesh edges, regardless of their visibility. The commit also features the ability to bake animations into Grease Pencil strokes. Converted meshes can then have all GP modifiers applied, and can be manipulated or overlaid on the original mesh, making this feature a great addition to the NPR and stylized toolsets.

These features are cleverly demonstrated in a video published by Blender user Dantti below:

Blender 2.90 is set to drop next week, but you can always download the latest Beta version if you can't wait to get your hands on it!
