If you thought Blender 2.8 was a game changer, have a look at 2.81. It has an amazing new feature, the Denoise node, which uses AI to denoise even the grainiest of images. It's quite amazing, and easy to use. Check out this quick tip to see how.

  1. I always thought ai refers to machine learning. I doubt however that a machine can learn a lot from only a single data (shouldn't call it data but datum since it is singular). So what is so intelligent here?

    • Not you, clearly. LOL. Kidding. The learning (e.g. analyzing large numbers of before/after noisy/denoised images) has already happened! It's coded into the denoiser's algorithms. If it were otherwise the results would suck for a long, looong time until you had done a huge number of renders.
